The Breathe Journal - A one-of-a-kind journal built entirely of handmade paper from Breathe magazines.
The paper in this journal is made from the pages of Breathe magazines that were torn down, soaked, pulped, and pressed by hand, transformed into usable sheets. Breathing life back into printed pages that would otherwise be discarded.
No two pages are the same. Thickness, colour, fibre, and surface vary throughout, giving each sheet its own texture and presence. Every page is a small work in itself.
Fifty pages of this handmade paper are bound into five sewn signatures. The original magazine covers are reused within each signature to hold the pressed pages together, becoming part of the structure. The journal is finished with a soft cover made from fabric reclaimed from an old dress, allowing the paper to remain the focus.
There are no pockets or added elements. This journal is about the paper & texture.
